Amos 7:14-15 - Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit: And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go…
Hobbies:
I enjoy many different things. I have been weightlifting for many years and enjoy working out. I also enjoy jogging and bicycling. I love to hunt the elusive whitetail deer, particularly with my bow, and I enjoy striper fishing. In the winter I enjoy downhill skiing and I have recently taken up playing the mandolin and loving it!
Family:
I am happily married since 1973 to my wife, Debby and have four children and 14 grandchildren.
Testimony:
I came from a home where my mom and dad attended church every Christmas and Easter. My dad was drinking quite a bit and they had some strife in their marriage. One day my dad was working as an electrician in his own business and was dramatically saved and trusted Jesus Christ as his savior. He began attending church regularly from that point forward. I attended with him at age 12 and after a few weeks trusted Jesus as my savior as well. I really began to grow and desire to learn more about Jesus. After a few years I hooked up with the wrong crowd and began to stray from the Lord. However, He got a hold of me a couple years later and I recommitted my life to Christ. I met my present wife Debby and we married at age 18. A couple years into our marriage God showed us the importance of giving everything to the Lord. We made a commitment to do that and began to enjoy the abundant Christian life God desired for us to have. I began to study the Bible and before long found myself serving as an assistant pastor at Raymond Baptist Church. When the senior pastor left I became the interim and during that time I had the opportunity to pastor a brand new church in Epping. I have served here since 1981 and love it very much! I serve along with my beautiful and encouraging wife, Debby and we value serving the Lord together.
Future Plans:
A far as my future goes, I look forward to serving the Lord here at EBBC as long as the Lord allows. I desire to know the Word of God in a greater way. I have no plans to retire as I want to serve God and love people until Heaven. I am blessed to have a great team of leaders around me. I want to please the Lord in my life as I continue to grow in my every day Christian life.
